    Doug Walker is a professor of economics at the College of Charleston, in Charleston, South Carolina. He also owns a consulting firm, Casinonomics Consulting, LLC. Walker is recognized as a top expert in the world on the economic and social impacts of casinos. He has worked with Spectrum on numerous engagements, including major projects in Florida, Iowa and Indiana.

    Walker has written two books, the most recent of which is Casinonomics: The Socioeconomic Impact of the Casino Industry (2013, Springer). He has published more than 40 academic journal articles and book chapters on the economics of gambling. His papers have been published in journals such as Applied Economics, Contemporary Economic Policy, Growth and Change, International Gambling Studies, Journal of Gambling Studies, Journal of Health Economics, Public Choice, Public Finance Review, and Review of Regional Studies.

    Walker serves as the Economics Editor for Gaming Law Review and Economics, a Regional Assistant Editor for International Gambling Studies, and he is on the Editorial Board of the UNLV Gaming Research and Review Journal.
